PILT 2250- Aerodynamics
I took this class my spring semester of 2012 at SLCC. I originally took this class for my major, but now it is only an elective. Below I posted my powerpoint presentation of the aerodynamics of the new Boeing 787.
Reflection Boeing has brought us their latest aircraft originally named the Boeing 787. Before the plane is put in to commercial use I had the opportunity to learn about its aerodynamic qualities. The 787 has been called the "dream liner" and has many unique features on it that I discuss in the presentation. I put this assignment on to my ePortfolio because it represents my application of the cumulative knowledge I gained from the class.
What does this presentation show about my learning? I believe that it demonstrates my overall knowledge of the aerodynamics of aircraft. Learning about the Boeing 787 provided a place to use and interpret information represented as data, graphs, tables, and schematics in a variety of disciplines. We are required know certain quantitative number and what they would affect the aircraft. What I learned in aerodynamics will apply to other areas of study besides professional piloting. Using the tools I got from the class I can apply it to something simple like a paper airplane or to larger scale rockets launched by NASA. With my new major of astronomy, knowing aerodynamics is always a good tool to have.
